World Water Day in Singapore

This year, 350 organisations in Singapore will organise over 250 activities and initiatives to commemorate World Water Day. The island-wide celebrations are expected to reach out to over 400,000 people. In line with the global effort to raise awareness on the importance of water sustainability, the theme for the celebrations is ‘Every Drop Counts’; reminding all residents to cherish and conserve water.

The month-long event will culminate on Sat, 21 March 2015 at the Singapore Sports Hub, where over 6,000 people will be taking part in community-led activities such as a Walk for Water, Cycle for Water and Paddle for Water.

To commemorate WWD, iconic attractions such as the Singapore Flyer, Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Sports Hub LED dome will turn blue. Commuters on the North-East Line MRT train will also get to catch an MRT train cabin specially decked-out in water conservation messages.
