Water in Esperanto

Seven years ago, few took seriously the need to get the complex business of development aid online. Akvo, which means "water" in Esperanto, is an internet startup launched in 2007 with the aim to transform international development and to help fix global poverty. With the goal to provide free and open working knowledge, a collaborative community, micro finance solutions and a marketplace for the water and sanitation community, Akvo provides internet and mobile tools for   reporting from the field. Teams are  monitoring whether water points are working across entire countries in Africa, using an Android smartphone tool, the Akvo FLOW. For more information about Akvo and Akvo FLOW.
