The new action plan aims to empower and support Lake Chad communities as they face urgent development challenges that are exacerbated by the future impact of climate change on the lake and its  contribution to regional food security.

The plan was developed by the Lake Chad Basin Commission and its six member countries, with support from the World Bank and the French Development Agency.
