The Dutch Water Day

4.03.2016

Every year Aqua for All and Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) organize a World Water Day event for the Dutch Water Sector. An occasion to celebrate and underline the achievements and activities that have been made on finding solutions for the world’s water problems. But also to address the challenges that lie ahead, taking the Sustainable Development Goals 6 and 11 into account.

Focusing on the international theme 'Water and Jobs’, this year’s event is co-organized with different partners; Municipality of The Hague, Plan Nederland, Vitens-Evides International, Dutch Water Authorities, Empower People, SkillsTown, Arcadis, World Water Academy, National Water Traineeship and Young Expert Programme (YEP), making it a well embedded event in the Dutch Water Sector. Key note speakers, Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs and Birgitta Kramer, Manager Sustainability at Vitens Water Supply Company will illustrate their perspective on 'Water and Jobs'.

The results of the ‘Walking for Water’ campaign, an awareness project for children in The Netherlands and abroad, will also be revealed. In 2015 601 schools in The Netherlands joined this campaign, raising € 1.209.103,- for international water projects.

The event takes place on Thursday, 24 March in De Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague, The Netherlands.
