We're all Downstream

Architect William McDonough famously wrote "In planetary terms, we're all downstream." This adage is particularly try when it comes to the impacts of poor solid waste management on water quality, ecosystem health, and disaster risk. In this light, the work of Team Swachhalay to fulfill the government's Clean India vision by cleaning Mumbai's streets is important for protecting India's water resources and the livelihoods that depend on them.
