The Water Integrity Global Outlook
20.03.2016In order to guarantee that all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, the international community will need to devote hundreds of billions of dollars. But while public and private entities have gone to great lengths to finance these investments, roughly one-tenth of these funds are wasted due to corruption. The Water Integrity Network (WIN) has released its Water Integrity Global Outlook 2016 (WIGO) in time for World Water Day. This report illustrates the ways that poor water governance negatively affects the vulnerable populations across the world, from Benin to Brazil to Flint, Michigan, USA.
