Water Operators' Partnerships
21.03.2016As the world’s urban population steadily grows and water stress increases, strengthening the capacity of the world’s public water and sanitation operators to provide sustainable services in urban areas is becoming an urgent imperative. The Global Water Operators' Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), a UN-Habitat partner agency, is working to build a network of Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs), which are non-profit, peer support entities among water and sanitation utilities. These WOPs are a key tool to help utilities to build their capacities so they can better serve the people who rely on them.
To get a fuller picture of how WOPs can have an impact on jobs, GWOPA is collecting stories from operators on what working on the ground means to them, and how WOPs can and do make their jobs better. Visit the GWOPA website for more information.
